Learn some effective ways to remove the musty smell from the toilet
The musty smell of the toilet is unpleasant. No matter how clean you are, sometimes a bad smell remains inside the toilet. However, it is possible to control this smell by following some simple techniques.
Regular cleaning:
The main cause of a musty smell is the accumulation of bacteria and dirt. Therefore, it is important to clean the commode with a toilet brush at least once a day. Using a strong toilet cleaner at least twice a week will provide long-lasting freshness.
Ensure ventilation
. Always keep the toilet window or vent fan open. If there is no air circulation, moisture inside accumulates and creates an odor. Using an exhaust fan will help remove the odor quickly.
Baking Soda and Vinegar
Baking soda and vinegar are very effective natural odor removers. Once a week, pour half a cup of baking soda into the commode or drain and pour vinegar over it. After a few minutes, rinse with water. This will kill germs and reduce the odor.
Lemon and Cloves:
Place a few lemon peels in a corner of the toilet. If you want, you can also put a few cloves in the lemon. This will spread a natural fragrance and absorb odors.
Air fresheners or essential oils
There are many types of air fresheners available in the market these days. However, many people may be allergic to artificial scents. Lavender, lemongrass or tea tree oil can be used as an alternative. Mixing a few drops of essential oil in cotton or water will refresh the environment.
Washing toilet mats and towels:
Often, a musty smell is not only caused by the commode, but also by old mats or wet towels. Therefore, they should be washed regularly and dried in the sun.
